Sail 101: Introduction to Sailing

What will I learn?  

• Sailing Theory:  Nomenclature, parts of a boat, communication, nautical awareness, knot tying, rigging a boat.

• In the Harbor:  Leaving & returning to the dock under power, boat preparation & security.

• Harness the wind:  How sails work, sailing angles, trimming sails, steering. 

• Safety on the Water:  Equipment, rules of the road, man overboard recovery.

What's the cost? 

Individuals just $180.

Families of two, $250

Families up to four, $400

What's  the schedule? 

Each Sail 101 consists of four weeks of training on our volunteers boats. 

How do I signup?

Tuesdays, June  2, 9, 16 & 26 - Registration closes  May 29

Mondays June 29, July 6, 13 & 27 - Registration closes June 26

Tuesdays August 4, 11, 18 & 25 - Registration closes July 31

What else should I know? 

We recommend our First Sail Experience before taking Sail 101.
First Sail students receive $30 off the Sail 101 list price.
